Coordinator, Internship and DEI Programs

This position is hybrid and can be based out of our New York City or Washington DC office reporting to the office on Tuesdays & Thursdays.


Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Internship Program Support

  • Support the team in establishing a new internship program including i) an on-line portal connecting students with internship opportunities and ii) the provision of resources/tools to assist students with the internship process and companies with recruiting techniques and management of a robust internship program
  • Coordinate operational and logistical aspects of the Foundation’s two internship programs (Saturday Launch Academy and Retail Real Estate Bridge Program) specifically for students from under-represented populations in the industry
  • Support the team in gathering, analyzing, and evaluating data for internship programs.
  • Communicate with students throughout the year and coordinate their participation in all early career-related activities.
  • In collaboration with the Manager, Internship Programs, coordinate and draft content for the Foundation’s bi-monthly student e-newsletter, focusing on issues relating to the entire internship process.

DEI Support

  • Assist with all aspects of planning and execution of ICSC DEI activities at in-person events, including speaker coordination, setting up registration pages, scheduling prep calls, and providing occasional onsite support.
  • Maintain regular communication with DEI partner organizations to keep them informed and engaged in ICSC activities.
  • Maintain and update the DEI webpage with the latest articles, research on DEI trends, and other relevant information, in partnership with the marketing department.

Additional Support

  • Create and manage a volunteer spreadsheet to track individual member involvement
  • Create/update PowerPoint presentations for virtual or in-person meetings.
  • Maintain close collaboration with Foundation Team Members.
  • Assist with activities at select meetings, conferences and events; some domestic travel may be required.
  • Provide other day-to-day support as required


Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years’ work experience in a non-profit or business environment with a client or member focus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Proficient at MS office programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Adept at database management and fast learner with new systems.
  • Strong abilities in writing, editing, and verbal communication, with an emphasis on clarity, effectiveness, and adaptability to diverse audiences.
  • Organized, detail oriented and ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks.
  • Capacity to work independently, ask questions, and make well-informed decisions.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Positive attitude, sense of humor, team player and willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment.
