ABOUT THIS ROLE

We're currently seeking a Program Manager to join our Finance Technology product team. In this role, you'll analyze the impact on our global accounting department caused by numerous simultaneous launches of consumer and creator products. You'll navigate a fast-paced environment, managing through uncertainty and complexity. Collaborating closely with product management, engineering, and finance teams, you'll translate financial needs into accounting requirements documents and journal entry mapping. You'll also guide new business launch teams, helping them incorporate detailed accounting requirements and identify internal control elements within systems or tools. The financial business analyst will be a part of the product management organization with reporting lines to Audible Finance.

Our team’s reach extends to all financial management and tax compliance systems within our company and its parent organization. Working alongside dedicated engineers from various teams, we continuously improve and build systems to support Audible’s global growth. We collaborate across functions, drawing crucial insights from accounting and tax professionals in both companies. Your successes will directly impact Audible’s millions of listeners and creators worldwide. Moreover, you’ll gain firsthand experience with one of the world’s largest retailers, collaborating closely with Amazon partners to leverage their cutting-edge technology and infrastructure.


ABOUT YOU

In this role, you'll be instrumental in launching some of Audible’s newest global business ventures. Collaborating with the Financial Technology team, accounting operations teams, tax experts, and others, you'll represent the accounting organization to diverse stakeholders. You'll collaborate with business, finance, and technical teams to deliver top-notch solutions that are scalable, secure, and adaptable. Comfortable in a fast-paced, global environment, you'll adeptly manage ambiguity and complexity while supporting multiple simultaneous project launches. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial, as is the ability to think critically, analyze data, problem-solve, define business requirements, and prioritize effectively.


As a Program Manager, you will:


Job responsibilities will include:


• Develop a deep understanding of accounting and corporate finance.

• Cultivate critical relationships with internal and external partners.

• Manage complex projects from initiation to delivery.

• Enhance program delivery across accounting by standardizing communications, execution, and documentation.

• Gather requirements, write clear functional specifications, prioritize features, and drive technical scoping.

• Drive continuous process improvement by designing solutions that enhance business performance.

• Ensure consistent execution of functions across accounting by collaborating with internal partners to implement global standards, processes, and programs.

• Identify and address potential risks and obstacles with minimal direction.


Basic qualifications


• 5+ years of experience in program or project management.

• Experience leveraging data and metrics to drive improvements.

• Cross-functional experience with both technical and non-technical teams.

• Experience managing accounting process improvement or technology projects with tight deadlines.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related financial field, or equivalent experience.


Preferred qualifications


• Master’s degree or Accounting certification (CMA or CPA).

• PMP Certification.

• Experience supporting accounting customers to manage expectations and drive resolution.

• Experience in accounting projects, including requirement gathering and testing in distributed system environments.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

• Experience in a fast-paced environment akin to a high-tech startup.

• Proven ability to influence and make an impact.

• Excellent analytical skills.
