The Grants Administrator is responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of grant activities, including accounting, reporting, compliance, and auditing for both public and private funding sources. This role ensures that all grant-related activities adhere to established accounting standards (GAAP) and federal guidelines (OMB CFR-200). The Grants Administrator will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to monitor, evaluate, and report on grants, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.


Pay range: $37-39.17/hour

Hybrid 2 days onsite, 3 days remote

Location: Oakland, CA



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full grant cycle, including application, budget preparation, monitoring, reporting, and close-out processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, guidelines, and accounting principles, including GAAP and Federal OMB CFR-200 requirements.
  • Evaluate and implement internal controls to minimize risks and enhance compliance across all grant-related processes.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare detailed reports for management, auditors, and grant funders.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment and understanding of grant requirements and compliance.
  • Monitor and analyze grants and fund accounting, providing recommendations for improvement and ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that support effective grant management and administration.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for grantors, auditors, and internal staff, providing guidance and technical assistance as needed.
  • Adapt to a dynamic and deadline-driven environment by managing competing priorities and proactively addressing challenges.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with non-profit organizations or government agencies.
  • Familiarity with grants management software or financial systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in fund and grant accounting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and Federal OMB CFR-200 requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in evaluating and implementing effective internal controls for grant and fund management.
