Role Overview:

We are looking for a Head of Operations with deep experience in the payments industry to join our team. This critical leadership role will oversee day-to-day operations while working closely with the CEO and other key stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives, improve efficiency, and ensure the company is positioned for long-term success.


Candidate must reside in Puerto Rico or be willing to relocate.


The ideal candidate is a highly skilled operator with a strategic mindset, capable of managing complex projects, leading cross-functional teams, and contributing to the overall leadership of the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Develop and oversee operational strategies, ensuring alignment with Bluebanc’s mission and business objectives.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor the operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Payments Industry Expertise: Leverage in-depth knowledge of the payments landscape to optimize processes, meet regulatory requirements, and support innovative product offerings.
  • Process Optimization: Streamline operations to improve efficiency, scalability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Executive Collaboration: Work directly with the CEO to ensure seamless execution of company priorities.
  • Client Success: Collaborate with account managers and other teams to ensure exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Partner with compliance teams to maintain adherence to all industry regulations and standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Support the company’s growth by identifying and executing on opportunities for innovation, expansion, and improved service delivery.


Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of operational leadership experience in the payments industry (card issuing, payment processing, or similar). Banking experience alone is insufficient.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Strategic Thinking: Capable of balancing day-to-day operations with long-term strategy development and execution.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a knack for simplifying complex ideas.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical and solution-oriented, with experience navigating operational challenges in dynamic environments.
  • Technology Proficiency: Skilled in leveraging technology to enhance operations, with familiarity in payments platforms and tools.
  • Location Requirement: Must reside in Puerto Rico or be willing to relocate. A relocation package is available for qualified candidates.
