We seek an experienced Senior Network Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining Windows-based network and system infrastructure.
As a Senior Engineer, you will play a critical role in this six-figure role ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our IT systems. You will also lead projects, mentor junior team members, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative IT solutions.
What you are doing as a Senior Network Systems Engineer:
- Network Design & Implementation: Design, configure, and deploy LAN, WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file/print services.
- Oversee the deployment and management of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar platforms.
- Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection. Monitor and respond to security incidents.
- Design and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and system availability.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to enhance network and system efficiency.
- Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex network and system issues, providing escalated support when necessary.
- Lead and participate in IT infrastructure projects, including planning, execution, and documentation.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and IT staff, providing technical expertise and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
What you need as a Senior Network Systems Engineer:
- 7+ years of experience in network and systems engineering, with a focus on Windows environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, VCP, or CISSP are highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, etc.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, etc.).
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS is a plus.
