Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Market Research Director to join our team. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, account management, or a related field within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.
  • You have proven experience in managing, coaching and leading teams.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in market research methodologies and tools.

A Message from the CEO


Thank you for taking the time to review our post. This is a very important position in our nascent company, a role that becomes even more crucial given the expansion plans I have for the next 18 months. Because of this, I thought it was worth a few words here from my perspective.


I’m looking for the kind of leader that’s truly interested in developing people. Our research team members are smart, capable, and enthusiastic about the future. But for too long we have focused on getting the work done in front of us, on time and on deadline, without thinking of developing people beyond the skills required to do the job at hand.


If we are to expand our product and service offerings, we need people with broad, Swiss Army-knife capabilities that can take on challenging work beyond what we do now and have the confidence they can do it. That means enhancing their abilities as researchers, writers, and thinkers. I believe that just about everyone we have on the team today has it in them to become this caliber of analyst. But we need a leader who considers developing these people a top priority and knows how to do it.


Second, I’m looking to raise the bar on excellence — which ties into developing our people. That means pushing people beyond their comfort zones so that they can learn how to do things and not fear the challenge.


Third, I want a strong leader that can start earning people’s respect on day one. Some of that will come from your experience that will be obvious to the team just by looking at your LinkedIn profile. But you will need to back that up by what you say, how you say it, and what you do. I can help you develop those skills, but I don’t want to start with a blank slate.


Finally, there is one last crucial thing I’m looking for. I need someone to translate my thoughts and ideas onto the research page. Because most of our clients are in Pharma/Biotech, unless you have direct experience in this area, preferably in marketing or market access, this role isn’t for you. You need to be able to speak the language of Pharma before coming to Darwin.


I want this to be a terrific place to work and grow. When people leave — which in any business, people eventually do — I want them to say this was the best company they’ve ever been a part of. But given that eventuality, I’d like to keep people for the long haul. You can be a major factor in giving Darwinians that experience.
