Premier Group has partnered with one of the biggest Supply Chain Management companies who is looking to add a Lead Sr. Linux/Network Engineer to their growing team. This is a great opportunity to join the business as they are currently going through a massive period of growth.


The ideal candidate will be a Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) with extensive proficiency in Linux, Windows, Networking, and Security. This role supports leading SaaS cloud, ensuring robust maintenance of current customer environments and scalable support for the expanding client base.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Engineers and Administrators as a Senior Linux/Network Engineer, overseeing environment operations.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux systems under the guidance of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Configure and optimize Java Application servers (Tomcat, JBoss) with the expertise of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Troubleshoot Java applications and IoT devices across Linux, UNIX, and Windows platforms, guided by a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Perform hardware troubleshooting, including failure analysis and recovery, as directed by a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Resolve network issues involving WAN and LAN protocols, and manage services like SFTP, DNS, SSH, VPN, Mail, and Apache with the leadership of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Implement and uphold secure environments, leveraging Firewall and other security technologies under the guidance of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Deploy and manage database servers (MSSQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) with the oversight of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Research and implement automation and technological advancements under the leadership of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Operate effectively in a production data center, ensuring continuous service with minimal oversight as a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Provide 24x7 Tier III Production environment support with the expertise of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Interface with client teams and third-party vendors, bridging technical and non-technical communication under the guidance of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity processes, including documentation and exercises as directed by a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, CIS, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in mentoring engineers and administrators.
  • Proficiency in documenting processes, technical specifications, and system configurations.
  • 10 years of professional experience with Linux distributions such as Red Hat or CentOS as a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • 5 years of experience in WAN/LAN Networking technologies under the guidance of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • 5 years of expertise in Security Technologies, including firewalls, Nessus, and intrusion prevention systems with the leadership of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere or Red Hat KVM virtual machines under the expertise of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Experience hosting Java Web Applications and managing Cloud environments (OpenStack, OCI, Microsoft Azure, AWS) with the guidance of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools (Jenkins, Hudson, Nexus) under the leadership of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Proficiency in backup systems implementation and management (e.g., Bacula) with the expertise of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Experience in high-paced environments, managing Apache web servers, and advanced scripting (Perl, Bash) under the guidance of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Familiarity with IT Infrastructure monitoring software (e.g., Nagios) under the leadership of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Advanced understanding of physical and virtual networking principles with the expertise of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across multiple domains (application, network, system, hardware) under the guidance of a Senior Linux/Network Engineer.
  • Active DoD clearance or ability to obtain one.


Desired Skills:

  • 5-10 years of Windows Server administration experience.
  • Experience in designing and supporting high-performance, high-availability architectures.
  • 1-3 years of experience with MySQL Clustered databases.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure provisioning tools like Docker, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Background in the Software Development Industry is advantageous.
