Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Clinical Support Specialist to drive practice change through the implementation and utilization of our innovative solutions. The Clinical Support Specialist will expertly lead the clinical implementation process, product conversions and customer utilization trainings as a critical member of the sales and customer success team. The Clinical Support Specialist is able to partner during the sales or product conversion process to strategically implement our devices and solutions optimizing patient care initiatives and customer satisfaction.
Client is an emerging growth, commercial stage medical device company developing products and solutions that address critical challenges for healthcare systems globally. The company’s flagship product is the only FDA-cleared device on the market indicated to significantly reduce false positive blood cultures (the ‘standard of care’ blood test for sepsis). It delivers significant clinical and cost savings benefits which have been extensively proven with large bodies of clinical data and peer-reviewed published studies.
About the Role
The role of the Clinical Support Specialist, Implementation & Utilization, is to drive the planning, execution, resourcing and the onsite clinical training of the customer sales implementation or account product conversion process. With the ability to seamlessly integrate into the sales process, the PM builds strong relationships demonstrating clinical, technical and business acumen.
The Clinical Support Specialist is a hybrid travel and remote from home position. This role reports to our National Clinical Manager and will contribute to the Clinical team’s development of product implementation and conversion standardized services and customer specific project plans. The Clinical Support Specialist focused on customer success, project planning and delivery.
Utilizing management experience and clinical expertise, the PM oversees and ensures alignment with the Territory Account Manager and Business Director to identify successful project completion. The Project Manager provides regular and timely communications with the ability to liase cross functionally with the internal team as well as key hospital stakeholders and department teams and leaders.
Leveraging knowledge of hospital department operations (ED, Laboratory, Infection Prevention, Clinical Value Analysis) develops the customer’s clinical product implementation or conversion plan and resourcing. Leads onsite clinical training and support for the utilization of product usage and data collection processes.
Project Development and Implementation:
- Scope and plan the clinical schedule, materials, logistics aligned to customer success.
- Collaborates and communicates established project plans, including schedules, resource identification, milestones, tracking and adjustments as needed.
- Engage in extensive and ongoing training on technical, clinical and economic value proposition of product offerings and solutions
- Coordinates data collection, tracking and reporting and integrates into project plan with KPIs/metrics supported in alignment with customer and internal organizational goals
Formal Planning:
- Develop comprehensive plans for project execution, ensuring that all aspects are well-defined and tracked.
- Manages assigned project resources to plan, including ensuring that project tasks are correctly assigned to customer partners.
- Determine the priority of requests to ensure efficient resource management.
- Identify and ensure appropriate agreements and contract terms executed

- Understands known problems and can identify implications with the ability to break items down into individual pieces to be solved.
- Uses prioritization to structure addressing the most relevant items.
- Develops a well-structured presentation/document, tailored to the audience.
Required Skills and Experience
- 7+ years’ experience in nursing, clinical operations, medical device or equivalent, with experience inclusive of 3+ years project management, 3+ years in acute or critical care setting. Medical Device experience highly preferred.
- Experience in the Emergency Department, Intensive and Critical Care, Vascular Access, Infection Prevention, or Infectious Diseases preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of blood culture collection technique and procedures.
- RN Associate degree required, BSN or MSN preferred
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, schedule, direct, control and monitor project activities.
- Excellent written and effective verbal communication skills.
- Proficient project management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple timelines and tasks.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform basic financial analysis.
- Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft suite of tools.
