Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role as a Marketing Director at Kavala Collective. The ideal candidate will serve as the lead marketing executive. You will manage all marketing efforts including strategy, marketing calendar, KPIs, budget, content, influencer, affiliate, PR, retention strategy and digital.


This will be an exciting role that works directly with our Founder to create industry-leading marketing magic. We are looking for somebody who will be as passionate about our brand as we are


We are only looking for somebody with previous fashion / product-based Ecom D2C experience.

 

Responsibilities: 


Strategy

  1. Create 360 marketing and launch strategy
  2. Develop and manage our marketing calendar with launches, events, promotions, etc. to hit targets and grow sales growth
  3. Work directly with our Director of Paid Digital and our Founder to create strategies for all marketing activities across: Meta, Google, Tik Tok, Pinterest, Affiliate, Influencer, PR, Event, partnerships, etc.
  4. Develop and create innovative online offerings, delivery of content methods & testing to drive online sales and enhance profitability
  5. Create and execute compelling marketing tactics to continuously grow our customer database 
  6. Develop marketing strategies for Australia, the USA and international markets as our biggest customer base is the USA


Budget + P&L

  1. Manage marketing daily P&L, budgets, forecasting, and KPIs to optimize performance
  2. Create performance updates to present to founder and team


Affiliate & Influencer

  1. Design and manage an effective Affiliate and Influencer program to hit goals and KPIs
  2. Build this part of the business to be a large acquisition vertical for Kavala


Content Strategy + Social Media

  1. Lead and develop content strategy across all channels - both Paid and Organic
  2. Communicate with our Director of Digital to understand and organize optimal content for paid advertising across all channels
  3. Manage and execute our content creation program to ensure industry leading, on-trend and effective digital content for usability across all of our online channels
  4. Implement and manage our UGC program including briefing out content creators, negotiating terms, receiving content, etc.


Community Creation + Management

  1. Create and foster Kavala Collective's Community with creative initiatives such as - whatsapp travel groups, facebook surf groups, in-person surf meet-ups, in-person community events, pop-up stores, etc.
  2. Creating community for the Kavala Collective brand and customers is pivotal to our marketing strategy


Brand Guidelines and Voice

  1. Implement and own Kavala Collective's branding and voice across all channels to ensure continuity of brand


Retention

  1. Lead email and SMS marketing channels
  2. Conduct continual testing to optimize retention channels


Team Management

  1. Collaborate within the broader team to ensure synergies across the business
  2. Effectively build, manage and inspire a high-performing, optimized marketing team


We are looking for a strategic team leader who can come into Kavala, scale the brand and get their hands dirty. This role will be both a management role and an execution role. Over time we would like this role to hire more team members underneath them to create and lead a robust marketing team.


Your Qualifications:

  1. BSc or MSc in Marketing or relevant field
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role ideally for a fashion brand
  • Proficiency in digital marketing channels such as Meta ads, Google Ads, Social Media, EDM marketing, and SEO
  • Demonstrated experience in leading high-performing teams
  • Strategic mindset to competitively position the brand within the market
  • Deep comprehension of customer behaviors and preferences
  • Capability to develop and execute customer-centric marketing strategies comprehensively
  • Strong analytical abilities to assess market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behaviors
  • Effective project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor marketing campaigns and projects
  • Proficient in utilizing marketing automation tools and analytics platforms.
  • Capacity to establish clear expectations, provide constructive feedback, and resolve issues promptly
