ERP System Administration

In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and optimization of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the ERP software, supporting end-users, and collaborating with various departments to enhance system functionality.


Systems Maintenance:

  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to keep the ERP software current.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to maintain server infrastructure supporting the ERP system.

User Support:

  • Provide user support and training to ensure employees can effectively utilize the ERP system.
  • Address user queries, troubleshoot problems, and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation and training materials.

Security and Access Management

  • Implement and manage security protocols to safeguard sensitive data within the ERP system.
  • Administer user access and permissions, ensuring compliance with security policies.
  • Conduct periodic security audits and address vulnerabilities.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Generate regular reports on system performance, usage, and key performance indicators.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in ERP system administration.
  • Proficiency in ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Fourth Shift, Visual, Epicor, Syteline).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred

  • Relevant certifications in ERP system administration.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for ERP implementation and administration.
  • Experience with cloud-based ERP solutions.
  • Familiarity with business processes in the specific industry of the organization.


Understanding of networking concepts.

Virtual and Physical machine interoperability.

  • TCP/IP.
  • DNS.
  • NIC configuration.
  • VLANS.
  • Bandwidth and throughput.

Basic understanding and experience working with Hypervisor and/or Cloud.

Work with virtual machines.

  • Comprehend the concept of remote storage.
  • Understand the impact of Windows and ERP application installs and maintenance.

Medium experience setting up printing.

  • Print Servers.
  • Print Drivers.
  • Print Policies.
  • Print setup with ERP applications, including but not limiting to print scripting.
  • Experience with Visibar and/or MfgStream data collection systems.

Basic Windows administration experience.

  • Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 minimum baseline preferred.
  • OS navigation, maintenance, patching, logs, etc.
  • Application installations.
  • Task scheduler and basic scripting automation.

Basic experience creating, deploying, and maintaining script-based automation.

  • Comfortable with Batch file creation and flow.
  • Comfortable with PowerShell basic scripting.

Basic experience understanding and deploying security measures with ERP applications.

  • Security Settings
  • Security Exclusions for both server and client ERP levels.

Advanced skills with Microsoft SQL

  • Create and support ODBC connections.
  • Create and maintain databases for ERP platforms.
  • Perform database backups, restores, and installations/setups.
  • Deploys and administers SSRS, runs reports, understand Data Sources
  • Designs and implements maintenance plans.
  • Performs database and log file maintenance.

Basic understanding and experience with backups.

  • Backing up VMs.
  • Backing up SQL databases.
  • Restoring backups.

Medium experience with GPOs as it relates to ERP deployments.

  • Setting Drive Mappings.
  • Managing web browser Trusted Sites.
