Senior Purchasing Agent - Colorado

We are looking for a Purchasing Agent to join our Colorado team. The Purchasing Agent will report to the Purchasing Director and will be primarily responsible for preparing bid specifications and scopes of work, administering contract bidding, and assisting in awarding, while maintaining contracts. The Purchasing Agent also prepares, and issues change orders, purchase orders, and assists in the creation of house cost budgets.
This role will be full-time, based out of AHV’s Denver office.
Major duties performed include:
Prepares scope of work for each trade per specifications determined and obtains approval of the Purchasing Director.
- Works with the team to initiate lot detail sheets and maps for internal and external distribution.
- Prepares plan specific pricing schedules per trade, plan, and elevation to determine base house budget costs.
- Works with Purchasing Manager to spread bids on bid worksheet per trade category.
- Setup and enter information into the ERP (Mark Systems) and validate purchase orders accuracy.
- Review any requests for construction changes and extras with Purchasing Director.
- Prepare start letters by phase for internal and external distribution.
- Produce and maintain accurate take-offs and pricing within MarkSystems to ensure proper reporting by the Purchasing Team.
- Ensure product specification compliance by project.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of purchasing / construction experience in production, multi-family or regional homebuilding environments preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work across teams, including construction operations, product design, finance, and accounting to solve critical business problems.
- Strong background in MS Excel, ERP, and scheduling tools
- Analytical, problem-solving, organizational, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
