Nixon Power Services is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee HR processes, practices and procedures in Employee Relations, Training, Benefits Administration, Payroll, HRIS, Compliance, Talent Acquisition and Safety.


The HR Manager reports to the Vice President, CFO at the Corporate headquarters in Brentwood, TN. The position includes hands-on involvement as well as the ability to think strategically and align HR initiatives to business needs.


Responsibilities:


Works as a business partner with all members of management understanding their objectives so solutions can be provided that support the operation with a focus on the following:



Administration and Compliance

  • Oversees and/or manages the maintenance and overall administration of the Human Resources Information Software (HRIS) system including applicant tracking, onboarding, performance management, and compensation policies.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws including industry regulations including ensuring all required FMLA/Federal/State postings are displayed and current.
  • Directs HR team with all necessary compliance requirements and filings related to payroll, benefit tracking, drug testing or other general HR compliance requirements.


Employee Relations

  • Partners with executive team/managers to communicate the company’s Human Resource policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Works with managers to effectively communicate employee performance expectations.
  • Trains managers in effective coaching and communication skills.
  • Advises managers on best practices and implications of HR issues related to discipline, grievances, or terminations


Training

  • Establishes effective employee training systems that address company training needs including training needs assessments, new employee orientation or onboarding, production cross-training and employee career development.


Safety

  • Coordinates with Aftermarket Safety team on tasks and duties based on company needs and initiatives.
  • Responsible for worker’s compensation claims management, accident/incident reporting and compliance.



Education and experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience necessary
  • 5+ years’ experience in a supervisory/leader HR role
  • Experience working in a Construction, Manufacturing, Industrial or Services environments a plus
  • Professional certifications a plus


Skills and abilities:


  • Experience supporting multi-location business units
  • Knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations
  • Experience working with attorneys, COE’s, and senior leadership
  • Working knowledge of HRIS software or capacity for quick learning
  • Effective, professional communication written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Excellent administrative and organization skills
  • Discretion to handle confidential, sensitive employee information
  • Comfortable handling difficult conversations tactfully and professionally
