Job Purpose: Individuals in this role need to have strong communication skills and ability to multitask. We are looking for a high-energy enthusiastic individual who is confident in decision making. Coordinates the handling of difficult and/or unusual situations and escalates to Account Manager when appropriate. Responsible for continuous Core 30 carrier development at all times. This position reports directly to the LC Team Lead.


Core Functions:

  • Responsible for covering freight in defined zone and maintaining contact with driver throughout transit, including pick-up and delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with key contacts to achieve mutually beneficial carrier partnerships.
  • Prioritize coverage accordingly, per freight in the system.
  • Ensures and provides quality service to both internal and external customers.
  • Participates and provides expertise as a member of the carrier sales team.
  • Responsible for updating Account Manager regarding any possible issues that may arise.
  • Initiates required action for response to Account Manager’s requests for order changes, and communicates to appropriate Manager or Salesperson.
  • Important to stay informed of market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature.

Details of Function:

  • Responsible for achieving daily and weekly minimum expectations and KPIs with goals that vary regarding with given expectations by Team Lead.
  • Makes telephone calls and occasional in-person visits to build core and dedicated carriers
  • Research sourcing of carriers outside of Core 30 and TMS, through the use of external sources
  • Must maintain, grow and utilize relationships with Core 30 carriers
  • Responsible for validating a carrier’s qualification to our established carrier setup procedures prior to utilizing carrier
  • Provide back-up to other group members in the job duties as required
  • Answers carrier inquiries/communication as required
  • Complete training that is assigned within the deadline
  • Required to work until the freight is covered at the request of your Team Lead
  • Provides COMPETITIVE “market” pricing to Account Manager as requested
  • Supplies Management with oral and/or written reports on carrier problems, competitive activities and potential of new services
  • Other duties that can be assigned

Requirements for Booking and Dispatching Freight

  • Must have all driver information in the load (Driver Cell, Truck # and Trailer #)
  • Must talk to driver prior to pick up and confirm they have correct equipment and driver has all details pertaining to the load
  • Driver must opt into Project44 tracking prior to picking up load
  • All loads must have a chatter with position update at least once daily
  • All contact with carrier must be put in writing in chatter feed in loads
  • Prebooks are required to be verified day prior to pick up and must be documented in load that carrier is still good for the load
  • All carriers must be vetted prior to giving them load tenders, even if they are approved in the system (Check TIA and Truckstop.com for write ups, verify we have updated contract, w-9, authority and insurance with Prosponsive Logistics listed as a certificate holder.
