Position Summary

The Channel Activation Specialist will be responsible for purchasing commercial airtime and print space along with collaborating to establish efficient and effective processes and procedures across the Agency and stewarding the spirit and culture of the organization with a focus on Brand Conviction, both internally and externally. They will be the lead point of contact with vendor partners, handling negotiations, contract executions, campaign launches, in-flight maintenance, post-reporting, and billing reconciliation. The ideal person for this role must be detail-oriented with the capacity to multitask.


Detail of Responsibilities

  • Manage television, radio, print, and sponsorship avails from station representatives.
  • Generate rating estimates via the application of appropriate buy specs and data sources.
  • Negotiate and secure Local and National television, radio, and print media.
  • Estimate, update, and adjust all broadcast ratings.
  • Negotiate and document rates, special placements, and added value by medium for all markets with a focus on lower rates, special time parameters, value-added sponsorships, and promotions, justifying the rating estimates.
  • Execute all media plans while adhering to established budgets, guidelines, and timelines.
  • Clearly and accurately communicate and confirm new orders and revisions with media vendors.
  • Monitor buys in progress. Responsible for makegood evaluation, post-buy reporting, and under-delivery.
  • Track media expenditures in Buntin systems to ensure budget pacing and delivery compliance.
  • Collaborate with vendors, brand management, and media planners to resolve media billing issues.
  • Participate in client meetings, as needed, representing the Agency in a professional, courteous, and collaborative manner with a focus on driving Brand Conviction for our clients.
  • Approve billing drafts and invoices in a timely manner.
  • Analyze and develop sufficient rationale for all over or under-delivered campaigns.
  • Ensure maintenance of financial integrity and that media purchases are audit-friendly.
  • Keep highly in tune with the ever-changing pulse of activation technology, models, data, and capabilities; able to collaborate to provide strategic POVs to agency leadership and clients on appropriate responses to these trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – adept at communicating complex concepts to people with varying levels of understanding.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 2-3 years of Media Buying experience required.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of media channels, suppliers/capabilities, and associated cost models used across various channels.
  • Familiarity and experience with major traditional and digital activation data and technology (e.g., Nielsen, ComScore, Media Ocean/Prisma).
