SUMMARY

The QA (3D AOI) Inspector will perform visual, electrical, and dimensional inspections of printed circuit board assemblies and will be responsible for daily inspections to assure compliance with manufacturing traveler, engineering drawings, bill of materials, process specific instructions, critical criteria, IPC standards, and other applicable documents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for setup and operation of 3D Automated Optical Inspection machine.
  • Performs visual and dimensional inspections of printed circuit board assemblies to ensure that workmanship complies with the appropriate requirements from engineering drawings, process specifications, industry standards i.e., IPC-610 and J-STD-001, and any customer-specific criteria.
  • Uses precision measuring instruments i.e., smart tweezers, calipers, and pin gauges to determine adherence to electrical and dimensional specifications on first articles, in-process inspections, and production runs.
  • Understands rules and requirements for proper handling of electronic components: Electrostatic Static Discharge (ESD) while adhering to all ESD & handling requirements.
  • Communicates the defects not captured by equipment to the responsible personnel for enhancement of program integrity.
  • Performs and record results of first article inspections, and in-process inspections of assemblies and input data into Statistical Process Control (SPC) database.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in electronics assembly manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Knowledge of Automated Optical Inspection equipment and procedures.
  • Comprehension of IPC-610 and J-STD-001 standards. Prior certification preferred.
  • Must understand how electronic components are oriented and be able to distinguish the different part numbers.
  • Ability to interpret Engineering Documentation and work instructions.
  • 1 year of experience in a regulated industry such as ISO9001, AS9100 or ISO13485.
