The Communications Coordinator for Minaret Foundation is responsible for our organization's communications operations and serves as the central amplifier for our multi-faith and civic portfolio.

General Responsibilities:

  • Own the communications strategy and collaborate with stakeholders to craft compelling messaging for our organization.
  • Develop content, solicit updates from other departments, and maintain the content on our WordPress website as needed.
  • Ensure a cohesive narrative between our work and all communications channels.
  • Curate relations with journalists, public relations specialists, and other communication leaders.
  • Develop press releases, maintain press kit, and other functions as needed to manage and promote our media presence.
  • Work with graphic designers to develop aesthetically appealing content on a daily basis.
  • Post, and monitor organic and paid content across social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Work regularly with staff members and community partners to develop and maintain an editorial calendar for various channels and audiences.
  • Uses social media scheduling software for social media marketing.
  • Continuously learn new strategies through certification programs, workshops, and other educational opportunities funded by Minaret Foundation.
  • Create content for weekly emails, stakeholder emails, and donor newsletters.


Required Qualifications:

  • Creative and innovative; the ability to see alternatives and solutions.
  • Show the ability to multi-task effectively and balance priorities in an ever-changing, fast-moving, time-sensitive environment.
  • Well-versed in Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
  • Exceptional research skills with demonstrated understanding of data and digital platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with clear experience in writing engaging content.
  • Ability to manage time with great efficiency, and can operate with little oversight and minimal direction.

  • Remote, forever. Our organization has always been remote, and we have no plans on taking on office space.
  • Flexible hours. Our staff has the flexibility to design their schedules between Monday through Thursday and anywhere from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm (CST).
  • Four-day work week. We believe in long weekends and more time for yourself Our office hours are only Monday - Thursday.
  • Parent, child, and student-friendly. Do you have an exam coming up, taking care of an elderly parent, or need to be there for your children? Do what you need. No questions asked.

Compensation and Benefits:

This position is remote, part-time, up to 15 hours a week, with the possibility of additional hours within two months of hire. The hourly wage is between $23 – $27/hour. While we are unable to provide healthcare assistance at this time, we are actively working towards this goal along with a range of additional benefits.
