Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Field Service Technician at LasX Industries. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for performing installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on LasX laser systems. The role will also involve providing training and technical support to customers, documenting service activities, and ensuring customer satisfaction.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Supports production assembly, testing, runoff, and installation of equipment.

·        Coordinates the onsite installation and facilities training of customer’s personnel on equipment.

·        Troubleshoot control system issues via web session, phone.

·        Proven onsite troubleshooting and diagnosis.

·        Demonstrated ability to conduct Preventive Maintenance (PM) and service at the customer sites, including system calibration on production equipment relative to the customer’s process.

·        Thoroughly document all equipment services and laser materials process

·        Provide excellent customer service through effective communication and efficient service.

·        Responsible for managing travel requirements, including cost control, reservations and reports.

·        Thoroughly instruct customers how to operate and maintain machines.

 

Qualifications:

·        2 (Two) year technical degree, or equivalent, but not required, plus 1-3 years of service experience.

·        Excellent oral, verbal, and technical writing skills.

·        Excellent driving record, valid US Passport, and able to travel domestically and internationally.

·        Experience with diagnosing, repairing, and problem solving relative to field service.

·        Knowledge of industrial, mechanical components, fabrication techniques and mechanical drawings.

·        Knowledge of electrical circuits, automation controls, and ability to interpret electrical schematics.

·        Knowledge in use measuring tools. DVM, Oscilloscope or other measuring tools.

·        Base knowledge of Microsoft Windows® computers, embedded controllers, and related software.

·        Base knowledge of industrial lasers and laser materials; processing of non-metallic materials a plus

·        Base knowledge of materials handling equipment for roll-fed and sheet-fed materials a plus, but is not required

 

Physical Requirements:

·        Flexible to travel up to 75%, occasionally in emergency situations and extended periods.

·        Working at a computer workstation or OIT.

·        Working in an industrial manufacturing environment.

·        Standing and walking on a concrete floor for extended periods.

·        Some lifting required.
