We have an exciting opportunity to run an independent business managed by East West Hospitality. The Director of Operations oversees the entity Resort Delivery Ventures, LLC. This Senior Leader will directly oversee the operation and management of the business and employees. It leads a team of delivery drivers and grocery shoppers to provide grocery delivery to resort guests in both the Vail Valley. Responsible for business development including maintaining hotel and concierge relationships, making sales calls to hotels and management companies and generating new business in the form of additional hotels, locations or other business opportunities. Must be an independent self starter with entrepreneurial instincts.

 

Major Duties:

  • Is responsible for, and sets strategy for business development, utilizing EWH’s internal support team to execute that strategy. Includes, but is not limited to expansion of existing business into new markets and development of new product lines within a market.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Revenue & Strategic Initiatives and the Chief Marketing Officer to assure profitability and meet the financial and performance expectations of the business.
  • Leads the Resort Delivery team through upholding EWH’s culture of doing the right thing and building enduring relationships. 
  • Motivates and supervises a team of drivers and shoppers through transparent and effective leadership. Hires, trains, coaches and counsels employees to ensure they are able to meet expectations and thrive in their roles.
  • Responsible for creating and managing to annual budget and review of monthly financials. Ensures that team is meeting monthly sales and budget goals.
  • Maintain team schedule and payroll
  • Oversight of order process, shopping and schedule and delivery of the groceries
  • Responsible for the planning and purchasing of capital expenditures with close oversight of EWH Finance.
  • Maintain relationships with local concierge, hotel and management company staff with support from the EWH Guest Experience Team.
  • Responsible for customer service and issue resolution with clients with support from the EWH Guest Experience Team.
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors and partners including vendors for alcohol and specialty food items.
  • Work closely with Accounting team to ensure all revenue and expenses are tracked and to review and manage monthly P&L statements
  • Jump in on the front line when needed to support the team including shopping and making deliveries.

  • Ability to work in high pressure environment while maintaining professional and supportive environment for both part-time seasonal employees and full-time employees
  • Make decisions independently and quickly while meeting financial goals set jointly with EWH Finance.


Qualifications

  • Related experience in a related discipline of 5 -10 years
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in product management
  • Must be located in the Vail Valley, remote or hybrid is NOT and option
  • Must be able to work long and demanding hours during busy seasons, offset with very slow times in the off season.
