Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to effectively and efficiently manage a team of 9 Linux administrators, have strong time management, and organizational skills.


The Linux Manager will possess a strong technical background and solid leadership experience. Duties will include managing Linux Administrators and python programmers, plan and scope small projects, prioritize and monitor the work of the team, ensure adherence to policies (company, SOX, PCI, HIPPA), reduce technical debt, ensure tickets are being resolved in a timely manner, as well as other duties to ensure smooth operations in the IT department.


The manager should establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with other IT teams. They will evaluate performance and provide coaching for team members, as well as foster teamwork, collaboration, and learning.

  • Key Responsibilities:Manage work intake queues to provide timely, professional incident, and service request support.
  • Design, improve, and support Linux systems. (RedHat, ubuntu)
  • Develop, modify, and troubleshoot Ansible playbooks.
  • Ensures all security requirements are met or exceeded and appropriate security access levels are monitored.
  • Provides reliable solutions to various problems using sound problem-solving techniques, including performing root cause analysis and identifying corrective action for given problems.
  • Identifies inter-dependencies in system and application components and recommends component-level improvements.
  • Continuously develops technical subject matter expertise.
  • Adheres to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate expectations: train and mentor staff, address client issues, and interface with others as needed.
  • Coordinate the daily activities of the Linux team.
  • Provide performance feedback and corrective action to team members.
  • Qualifications:5+ years of management experience, preferred.
  • Strong management and leadership skills to guide and mentor team towards success.
  • Self-motivated, and able to effectively and efficiently manage a team of Linux administrators.
  • Have strong time management, and organizational skills.
  • Must have enterprise Linux experience
  • Must have experience with Bash Scripting and Shell Scripting / Development, Python, Git, and Ansible
  • Must have Server Virtualization experience with VMware.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar is preferred.
