The Commercial Construction Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of commercial construction projects. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the construction industry. The Project Manager will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met. Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless project flow.
  • Budget Management: Create and manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure that projects stay within financial constraints. Approve and track all project-related costs and expenditures.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage construction teams, including site supervisors, subcontractors, and other personnel. Provide guidance, direction, and motivation to ensure high performance and adherence to project goals.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all construction work is performed according to the highest standards of quality and in compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and specifications.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status, addressing any concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. Monitor site safety and compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, schedules, and reports. Provide regular progress reports to company leadership and clients.
  • Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Select, negotiate with, and manage subcontractors and vendors. Ensure all parties are aligned with project goals and timelines.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during construction, whether related to logistics, personnel, or client concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Must be experienced with ground up commercial construction in retail, manufacturing/warehouse, municipalities, and similar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction project management.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • PMP certification or other relevant certifications are a plus.
