Days/Hours: M-F FIRST SHIFT 7:30AM - 4:30PM

Monday – Friday plus available for phone calls 24/7 with the majority of calls coming Monday through Friday during plant operational hours. Some weeks have 0 calls and some weeks have 2-4 calls. The majority do NOT require a need to go in person and can be solved via phone call. After hour calls are paid as 2 hr “call backs” for up to 2 hours of additional work then pay at actual time worked after that. (eg. even if it can be resolved in 15 minutes via the phone they will get credit for 2 hours worked)


Day to Day:

Insight Global is looking for an Engineering Shift Facilitator for one of our manufacturing clients in the upstate of SC. To be considered, candidates must have team lead/supervisor or managerial experience and have a strong background in machinery maintenance and mechanical and/or electrical knowledge. The company primarily works in automotive interiors and this position will be in their lamination facility, which can be described as a specialized manufacturing or production center where various materials are laminated together to create components used in car interiors. This job requires a technical knowledge base allowing the individual to lead the engineering department. The job requires strong communication skills and leadership skills. The job requires attending and participating in plant safety meetings and enforcing safety expectations within the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the engineering department through daily breakdown issues, PM requirements, short term and long-term project planning and daily supervision.
  • Breakdown repair experience in a manufacturing facility refers to the continuous use of a part, machine, unit, or device until it breaks down and requires repair or replacement. It’s often known as reactive or corrective maintenance1. Unlike planned maintenance, which involves scheduled preventive tasks, breakdown maintenance occurs after a failure has already happened. The goal is to restore equipment to normal operation swiftly, minimizing downtime and production disruptions. This approach is particularly effective for non-critical equipment and short-life assets, such as batteries, fuses, and light bulbs.
  • Schedule and lead daily/weekly team meetings with associates in area of responsibility.
  • Lead efforts to improve productivity and labor cost in the engineering department.
  • Maintain measurement systems.
  • Report performance and plans for improvement in various meetings including with management.
  • Interact with vendors to ensure cost effective supply part management.
  • Supervise contractors to ensure quality and timely work completion.
  • Assist technicians forecasting expected downtime and communicate with plant leadership for forecasted repair completion time.
  • Provide additional resources – internal and contractors – as needed to meet plant engineering needs.
  • On call for technicians and leads to request assistance during off shifts and weekends.
  • Willing to work weekends when needed due to project schedule.
  • Ensure department if properly staffed at all times while managing labor cost to the budget.
  • Enforce Sage policy with all team members.
  • Lead 5S/Housekeeping activities in department.
  • Drive long term improvement projects.
  • Implement effective changes to improve the performance of the department.
  • Help administer management requests, as necessary.
  • Comply with all management requests.
