Position Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor at STERIS is responsible for overseeing the maintenance team within our manufacturing facility. This role involves directing maintenance personnel in various operational tasks, ensuring efficient equipment upkeep and repair processes. You will utilize your expertise to troubleshoot issues, plan maintenance activities, and coordinate repairs effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management
  • Ensure all planned and unplanned maintenance tasks are executed with precision, validating the quality of work performed by maintenance staff.
  • Oversee the documentation of maintenance activities, ensuring all reports and work orders are completed promptly.
  • Facilitate the initiation and completion of Change Control Evaluations prior to implementing any changes, except in emergency situations.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, part ordering, equipment downtime, and maintenance schedules to optimize operational efficiency.
Team Leadership
  • Delegate daily responsibilities to maintenance personnel, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Provide guidance and support to the team, stepping in to assist with repairs and maintenance when necessary.
  • Coordinate maintenance support during off-hours and communicate relevant updates to management.
  • Engage with contractors for external maintenance work as required.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment through effective coaching, motivation, and discipline as needed.
  • Enhance personal technical skills through ongoing education and hands-on experience with equipment repairs.
  • Promote a culture of safety by exemplifying safe work practices and addressing training needs proactively.
Performance and Compliance
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment by enforcing safety protocols and monitoring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Provide regular updates to the Maintenance Manager regarding project statuses and task completions.
  • Contribute to team objectives by adhering to company policies and supporting management directives.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards by monitoring training requirements and investigating equipment-related issues.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing timely updates on maintenance tasks.
Customer Service
  • Deliver exceptional service to internal and external customers through prompt and professional responses to maintenance inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED with at least 5 years of relevant experience in maintenance.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints.
  • Understanding of PLC Ladder Logic and electrical ladder diagrams.
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Associate degree or Technical College Certificate with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with CMMS or similar software applications.

Salary Information:

$40.87 per hour
