POSITION: Temporary to Permanent Human Resources Generalist
LOCATION: Secaucus, NJ (3x week in office)
HOURS: 9:00AM - 6:00PM
COMPENSATION: $70-80K DOE + Benefits
BACHELOR’S DEGREE: Highly preferred
Our client is the largest commercial furniture dealer in the world with more than 400 full-time employees across the country. They are currently seeking a detail oriented and self-motivated Human Resources Generalist in their Secaucus, NJ office. This individual will provide support for all aspects of HR including onboarding, new hire orientation, benefits and wellness, performance management, recruitment, and offboarding. We are looking for someone who is hands on and eager to learn.
Responsibilities of the HR Generalist:
-Serve as the point of contact for all general HR related questions
-Coordinate and act as a lead for the onboarding process, which includes ensuring all electronic new hire paperwork is completed in a timely manner, facilitating the background check process, coordinating the onboarding plan and first day logistics, managing informal 90-day reviews, and co-facilitating New Hire Orientation
-Post and manage requisitions in our applicant tracking system, schedule interviews, and screen candidates for open positions
-Assist the recruiting process by creating SOPs and templates to streamline our efforts
-Maintain organizational charts, employee handbook, electronic new hire documents, and other HR documents as needed
-Assist with maintaining and administering employee leave of absences
-Manage employee offboarding, including processing exit letters and surveys, and conducting exit interviews
-Assist with internal communications, including HR initiatives, new hire announcements, promotions, and other celebrations
-Participate in and providing support to HR strategic initiatives and special projects related to culture and engagement
Requirements of the HR Generalist:
-Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
-At least 3 years of relevant experience in Human Resources
-Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
-Strong problem-solving skills, ability to drive process improvement and attention to detail
-Proven ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
-Able to work autonomously and as part of a team with a results-driven approach
-Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
-Experience with Paycom or other HRIS is a plus
-Verification of identity, education, prior employment, and references may be required
