Project Title: Technical Product Manager, End-to-End Data Observability Platform

Job Description

The expected compensation range for this contract is $120k-$140k per year. The exact pay rate will vary depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to skills, experience, and location.

Lead the development and implementation of end-to-end data observability platform for a global snack foods and beverage company. This platform will play a critical role in providing comprehensive visibility across all business functions, including finance, accounting, customer support, and IT. The Technical Product Manager should have a strong background in data management, analytics, and product management, along with a deep understanding of observability tools and methodologies.

  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the end-to-end data observability platform.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, accounting, customer support, IT, and other departments to gather requirements and align the platform's capabilities with business needs.
  • Lead the design and development of the platform, ensuring it meets high standards of reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Oversee the integration of observability tools and technologies, including monitoring, logging, tracing, and analytics solutions.
  • Ensure the platform provides accurate and timely insights into data quality, system health, and business metrics.
  • Implement data governance practices to maintain data integrity and compliance.
  • Drive user-centric design and user experience enhancements to ensure the platform is intuitive and accessible for all stakeholders.
  • Develop training and support materials to facilitate platform adoption and effective usage.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on platform development and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineering, IT, finance, and customer support, to ensure seamless integration and operation of the platform.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data observability and analytics.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement within the platform.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, preferably within data management, analytics, or related fields.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of managing complex, cross-functional projects in a global organization.
  • Experience with data observability tools and platforms (e.g., Datadog, Splunk, New Relic, Grafana).
  • Strong understanding of data management, ETL processes, data warehousing, and data lakes.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry or a related consumer goods sector.
  • Certifications in product management, data management, or cloud technologies.
