Company Overview: We are a dynamic and growing organization that relies heavily on Linux-based systems to power our operations. As a Linux Administrator, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the stability, security, and performance of our IT infrastructure.


Responsibilities:

  • System Administration:
  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and workstations.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources.
  • Implement security measures to protect data and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of Linux systems.
  • Server Management:
  • Set up and manage Linux servers, including web servers, database servers, and application servers.
  • Perform regular backups and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place.
  • Maintain system documentation and keep it up-to-date.


  • User Support:
  • Provide technical support to end-users, addressing Linux-related queries and issues.
  • Assist with user account management, permissions, and access control.
  • Train users on Linux best practices and usage.
  • Automation and Scripting:
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts for routine tasks and automation.
  • Explore opportunities for process improvement through scripting and automation.
  • Networking:
  • Configure network interfaces, firewalls, and DNS settings.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux distributions (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
  • Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Python, or Perl).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Certifications such as RHCE or LPIC-1 are a plus.



Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.


Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
