We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Material Coordinator to join our team. This office-based role supports project management by ensuring the correct materials are ordered, delivered on time, and properly received in SAP.
**Core Functions:**
- Collaborate with Project Engineers to review Bill of Materials (BOM) at various design milestones (30%, 60%, 90%, IFC) to identify necessary materials.
- Prepare initial Material Requisition Forms (MRF) for approval, including material details, project charge codes, delivery locations, and required dates.
- Send approved MRFs to Supply Chain for quotations or bids and route these to Project Engineers for approval.
- Request new SAP Material Master entries when needed and convert approved MRFs and quotes into SAP requisitions.
- Handle vendor submittals (MTRs, certs, drawings) and route them for approval and appropriate handling.
- Review Material Status Reports (MSR) with Expeditor monthly, proactively informing Project Managers of any delivery risks.
- Monitor PO completion, work with Buyers to close and decommit POs, and provide field teams with relevant documentation.
- Enter Goods Receipts and adjust requisition quantities based on actual received amounts.
- Reorder materials to address quality issues or shortages identified by field teams.
**Responsibilities Exclude:**
- Field-based receiving/quality checking of delivered materials.
- Expeditor & Document Controller responsibilities.
- NCRs and other Quality functions.
- Technical subject matter expertise.
- Vendor qualification requests and verification.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or five (5) years’ experience in materials management, project management, or construction management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a large, geographically diverse organization.
- Strong risk recognition and evaluation skills.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, Bills of Material, and technical documents.
- Understanding of industry standards for material specifications (API, ASME, etc.).
- Deep understanding of materials procurement processes and project life cycles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Desktop Software (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with SAP, SharePoint, and Power BI is a plus.
