Director of Software Engineering

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Software Engineering to lead our software engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, specifically GCP, AWS, and Azure, and expertise in Kubernetes, Python, and TypeScript. As the Director of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and deployment of scalable software solutions, ensuring alignment with our business goals and technical strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and manage a team of 10 software engineers (Sr.\Jr.), fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

· Develop and implement the technical strategy for software development, ensuring it aligns with the company's goals and objectives.

· Oversee multiple software development projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.

· Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

· Implement and manage container orchestration using Kubernetes to ensure efficient deployment and management of applications.

· Utilize expertise in Python and TypeScript to guide development efforts, set coding standards, and review code to ensure high quality and maintainability.

· Work closely with other departments, including Product Management, QA, and Operations, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software solutions.

· Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and incorporate them into the technical strategy where applicable.

· Mentorship: Mentor and develop engineering talent, providing guidance, training, and career development opportunities.


Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

· Experience in Pharmaceutical industry preferred

· Proven experience (10+ years) in software engineering with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.

· Extensive experience with GCP, AWS and Azure cloud platforms.

· Proficiency in Kubernetes for container orchestration and management.

· Strong programming skills in Python and TypeScript.

· Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering complex software projects.

· Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.

· Experience with Agile development methodologies.
