Summary: ANVIL Systems Group is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in configuration management to contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge RF reference systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background with 3-5 years’ experience in configuration management and mechanical engineering principles, experience with industry-standard tools, and the ability to improve and maintain our documentation processes. This role is essential for ensuring the integrity, consistency, and traceability of our systems throughout their lifecycle.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for RF systems

Perform analysis and simulations to ensure designs meet all specifications and requirements

  • Conduct prototype testing, evaluate results, and implement necessary design changes while maintaining configuration management processes and procedures
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to ensure design feasibility and functionality
  • Maintain documentation for all design and development activities in accordance with company standards and industry best practices
  • Operate and utilize various machining tools such as band saws, drill presses, and soldering irons for prototype development and testing
  • Fabricate and modify components using machining tools to support development and testing
  • Establish and maintain configuration baselines for development, testing, and production environments.
  • Manage and track configuration items using configuration management tools.
  • Develop and implement test plans for mechanical components and assemblies
  • Ensure the mechanical design process aligns with project timelines and budget
  • Create or analyze schematic diagrams for either custom or commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) mechanical and electronic hardware
  • Collaborate with electrical, RF, software engineers, and other team members to integrate mechanical designs with overall system architecture
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technicians guidance on configuration management best practices to team members.
  • Continuously improve documentation structure to support project and operational needs.
  • Ensure that configuration management contributes to overall project risk mitigation strategies.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and ability to communicate technical information clearly
  • Experience with RF systems or electronics
  • Hands-on experience with machining tools
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures and regulations
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations and reasoning to solve problems
  • Experience in managing configuration baselines in complex engineering environments.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and passport


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in using configuration management tools, such as Microsoft TFS, Ansible, Puppet, etc.
  • Familiarity with RF systems or related technologies.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in configuration management.
  • TS clearance with eligibility for SCI with a polygraph.


Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree (B. S.) in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent field from a U.S. Department of Education accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to use applications run on Microsoft Windows and Linux systems, including Microsoft Office as well as domain-specific applications run on those platforms.
