Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled California licensed Architect to join our dynamic team. This role requires a deep understanding of architectural design principles. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, technical proficiency and comprehensive knowledge of commercial, and residential municipal codes and zoning requirements. In this role you will work closely with project teams in a collaborative studio on varied projects with a focus on commercial projects. Candidates for this position will be able to give direction, work independently, be a team leader, handle changing and evolving directives, and can complete tasks accurately and within deadlines.



Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture

·       Active California Architect license

·       Proven experience in architectural design

·       Experience in the multi-family or mixed-use industries a plus but not required.

·       Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills


Key Responsibilities:

·       Architectural Design

·       Lead and support the conceptual and schematic design phases of projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements, aesthetic vision and, functional goals

·       Oversee design team in all architecture aspects including detailed drawings, renderings and models using industry standard software (AutoCAD, Revit and sketchUp)

·       Review and mark-up design team’s deliverables such as construction documents and submittals.

·       Collaborate with design colleagues along with the project team to integrate architectural designs with engineering and construction disciplines

·       Conduct thorough site analysis and feasibility studies to assess the impact of proposed projects.

·       Navigate zoning ordinances, land use regulations and building codes to secure necessary permits and approvals.


Key Skills:

·       Technical production skills are necessary and require a demonstrated ability to effectively produce design and construction documents;

·       Proficiency in CAD and Revit is preferred;

·       Understanding of relevant CBC codes

·       Strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills;

·       Understanding of the design and procurement processes.

·       Excellent communication skills and a strong team ethic;

·       Ability to interact professionally with office leadership and clients;

·       Ability to direct and motivate work efforts of others and handle stressful

·       situations;

·       Ability to self-manage project assignments from start to finish with oversight. Be a great team member and leader. Candidate must lead team through all phases of design.

·       Utilize excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work independently

and as part of an effective team, while effectively and gracefully handling changing and evolving directives;

·       Strong written and verbal communications skills.

·       Continuously collaborate with team members;

·       Develop and express concepts accurately and rapidly to meet deadlines;

·       Attend client meetings offsite as needed
