This role will be located at a hospital in Brunswick, GA. However, you can live in Jacksonville, FL and commute to the area if you wish to do so. In the future, this role could potential expand to the Jacksonville District but for now will be at the hospital in Brunswick, GA.


The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and servicing high-end medical imaging equipment. This role includes managing systems applications, ensuring quality control, performing calibrations, providing operating system support, applications and software support, and offering technical assistance and troubleshooting.

Primary Objectives and Responsibilities

Field Support (75%)

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with high-end medical imaging equipment.
  • Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain accurate customer service logs and internal service records.
  • Address issues related to medical imaging applications, electrical components, computer hardware and software, as well as mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Perform service, calibrations, and quality assurance checks on entire imaging systems in accordance with ISO13485 standards.

Technical Support (10%)

  • Provide technical support for high-end medical imaging equipment both online and via telephone.
  • Communicate daily with customers to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain system performance through system monitoring, analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshoot hardware, software, networks, and operating systems; and escalate issues to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) as necessary.

Applications Support (5%)

  • Regularly interact with radiologists, technicians, physicians, and other medical professionals to stay updated on new and existing imaging solutions, issues, and trends.

Software Support (10%)

  • Ensure continuous support for applications software related to X-ray and Vascular modalities.
  • Utilize Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standards for viewing, filming, archiving, networking, and database administration.
  • Prepare users by designing and conducting training programs, and providing software support and resources.
  • Offer online and telephone support for Windows and Linux systems.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience with high-end imaging equipment.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must possess a current, valid, and unrestricted driver’s license with a safe driving record as per company policies.
  • Basic computer skills, with an understanding of computer networks and equipment interfacing.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as emergency off-hours, to support a 24/7 schedule.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to meet business needs.
  • Ability to lift and/or push up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods.
