Role Overview:

The Automation Engineer at our client will work under general supervision and play a critical role in supporting Vehicle projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual and automated quality assurance, with the ability to work independently and as part of a larger project team.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Execute responsibilities in an assigned QA area independently and as part of a larger project team.
  • Develop QA test cases, test plans, and regression test suites based on defined requirements.
  • Ensure QA test plans align with business requirements and provide proper coverage.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members in coordinated team efforts.
  • Contribute process improvement ideas and recommendations to the organization.
  • Promote continuous improvement of QA processes and support broader IT team efforts to enhance service quality.
  • Organize and ensure projects conform to timelines and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, track overall progress, and achieve milestones.
  • Report project risks, mitigations, and outcomes to appropriate management channels; escalate issues as needed.
  • Deepen partnerships within the organization and with third-party vendors.
  • Analyze project progress and adapt scope or timeline to achieve optimal results when necessary.
  • Document and follow up on actions and decisions from meetings.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of business processes and build strong working relationships with business users.
  • Prepare meeting presentation materials.
  • Assist in coordinating project and change estimations.
  • Ensure adherence to project management frameworks and maintain all documentation.
  • Follow standard change management procedures.
  • Participate in business requirements validation, compilation, and documentation.
  • Participate in vehicle technology validation testing.


Must-Haves:

  • 2-10 years in automated quality assurance
  • 4-year bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong proficiency in comprehensive quality assurance testing.
  • Proactive self-starter who initiates solutions for business requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong business analysis and reporting capabilities.
  • Effective time management and ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational, written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Office 365 tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Strong proficiency in Jira and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • General knowledge of one or more test automation platforms.
  • BA or BS degree.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Automotive industry experience.
  • Experience working with offshore teams.
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Agile software development methodology experience.
