Program: Retrofit of building – changing previous control system (pneumatics) and transitioning to DDC, this part of the contract is specific to service/preventative maintenance and is a net new position


Supporting a 21 year program onsite a large federal building. This program will help reduce energy consumption by 42%, water usage by 50%, and will reduce greenhouse gases by more than 20,000 tons annually.


Job Description:

  • Under minimal supervision, perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, point-to-point checkouts, calibration, troubleshooting and/or replacement of HVAC controls systems & equipment, and building control systems. These include air handling units, central plant chilled water and hot water systems, metering, and terminal units (VAVs, FCU, etc.).
  • Collaborate with on site M&V Engineer to proactively identify and correct issues that effect energy savings. This includes reviewing equipment operations from the system front end and the utilization of SkySpark with Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD) software.
  • Diagnoses and repairs complex control systems requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software.
  • Test and perform modifications to systems software when needed
  • Assist with sketching and documenting field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings



Must Have:

  • 5 years of experience in DDC controls and BAS systems experience – service and maintenance, not necessarily install
  • Strong communication, self sufficient
  • Experience using Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD) software.
  • Tridium Niagara Certification
  • Programming and/or troubleshooting various brands of HVAC controls products is highly desired (Metasys, Tridium Niagara, Apogee, Distech, Carrier, ALC, Andover, etc)
  • Proficiency with Johnson Controls Metasys® or Tridium® Niagara® Direct Digital Control (DDC) system highly preferred
  • USC citizen – no clearance but needs to be able to pass an HSPD12 badging aka full lifetime criminal history
