Paladin is now LHH Recruitment Solutions We are partnering with our Tigard, OR manufacturing client to recruit a Director of Sales to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a people leadership role focused on evolving, growing and ramping a team of inside and outside sales representatives. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring a large team, ensuring the department is running smoothly, overseeing hiring and growth planning, performance management, training and coaching for sales team members. You will inherit a team and will ultimately own hiring for the sales function, so experience navigating change management is going to be crucial for success. We're looking for a seasoned people leader with 3+ years of hands-on management experience with sales staff, ideally working with teams of 10+ direct reports and a blend of inside and outside sales people. You should bring a strong track record of hands-on sales experience that you can pull on to train and mentor, but this is not a role in which you will be managing your own book of business or clients. You will, however, maintain a client-facing presence, supporting sales team members in their work as needed. Most of this staff is local, but you will also manage field team members. A large part of this role is consistent communication with company leadership, and you will serve as a senior staff member responsible for interfacing with senior leadership to set strategic KPIs, forecasts, hiring plans and similar. A deep understanding of CRM tools is crucial, along with comfort developing niche product and client expertise.

Compensation ranges heavily based on experience between the $100,000 and $130,000 range, with opportunity and flexibility upwards for additional experience and a strong fit. You will:

  • Lead, train and mentor a sales team of both inside and outside sales professionals with a focus on training, optimizing team outcomes and strategic performance management
  • Serve as a key resource for and partner to company leadership, working with senior leaders to manage sales forecasts and planning, set KPIs, track department and team member performance, and develop strategic hiring and growth plans for the sales function
  • Partner with sales team members to work through challenges with clients or potential clients
  • Further drive a culture of proactive business development with both inside and outside sales staff, equipping all sales team members to proactively develop new business
  • Attend relevant trade shows, networking events, etc.


Your experience should include:

  • 3+ years of sales leadership experience in the B2B space in manufacturing, distribution, logistics or similar
  • Deep track record of personal sales success with the ability to support sales people in a variety of client situations
  • Passion for training, mentoring and otherwise supporting sales people with an eye on growth and increased production from individuals and the team
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred
  • Experience interfacing with company leaders to create strategic sales plans, goals
