Job Description:
Are you interested in tackling the role of Bad Debt Analyst at our Remote location? You'll be responsible for a range of financial, operational, and business-related analyses associated with bad debt and penalty revenues. See below for the key responsibilities:
  • Prepare financial, operational, and business-related analyses related to bad debt and penalty revenue fees.
  • Conduct data analytics to interpret trends and generate necessary reports and analyses.
  • Monitor and draft financial forecasts based on inputs from business owners and historical and expected trends.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial forecasts and variance analyses by monitoring key data inputs and drivers.
  • Compile and present financial performance metrics, reports, and presentations, while communicating results to key stakeholders.
  • Find areas for reporting and forecasting enhancements to boost performance and reduce manual workload.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Produce timely and accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly metrics, reports, and analyses on delinquencies, bad debt, and penalty revenues.
  • Create budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses for Accounts Receivable aging, bad debt, and penalty revenues.
  • Develop, maintain, and update intricate financial models predicting bad debt, penalty revenue, and other operational expenses.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish appropriate modeling assumptions and structuring for bad debt.
  • Effectively communicate and present analyses to senior management to guide financial decision-making.
  • Execute special projects independently or in a cross-functional capacity to monitor, report, and control risk factors driving bad debt.
  • Record month-end accruals for the monthly closing process in collaboration with the Accounting team.
  • Lead the analysis, preparation, and summarization of recommendations for bad debt optimization and its influencers.
  • Generate financial analyses and commentary for quarterly earnings related to bad debt.
  • Address ad hoc reporting requests from leadership promptly.
  • Demonstrate high efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in all work aspects.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in math, data analytics, business, finance, accounting, or economics from an accredited college or university.
  • Five or more years of experience in a financially focused or data analysis role.
  • At least 2 years of Proficient Excel experience for report preparation and data analysis utilizing lookup formulas and pivot tables.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience constructing financial models using trends and multiple inputs to forecast future outcomes.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles such as income statements, general ledgers, accruals, debits, and credits.
  • Background in SAP General Ledger systems and/or Hyperion Planning systems is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in tools like SAS, regression analysis, and data analytics is a plus.
