Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and create estimate packages with thoroughness and accuracy
  • Conduct preliminary research
  • Ensure estimates are precise to meet production requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering, car owners, and customers for repair instructions (contract review)
  • Validate the inclusion of additional repairs in the final Billing Repair Card (BRC)
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of supplemental repairs

Working Conditions:

  • Perform tasks such as climbing ladders up to approximately 14 ft. in height, bending, stooping, stretching, lifting, and carrying objects up to 50 lbs. to set up tables or attach to tank cars
  • Access tank cars through a manway opening of around 20 inches in diameter
  • Demonstrate comfort with heights and confined spaces
  • Possess sharp visual and auditory senses to identify various shop danger warning signals for a safe working environment
  • Have sufficient stamina to execute essential functions across a large plant area
  • Be available for significant overtime hours as needed
  • Be prepared to wear safety gear like safety shoes, glasses, hard hats, earplugs, and respirators
