Senior Accountant, Revenue & Billing

Location:

About the Position:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and inquisitive Senior Accountant, Revenue & Billing to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GovCon, Professional Services, or software, with expertise in billing, contract management, AR analysis, revenue recognition, and process enhancements. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient execution of the Order Entry, invoicing, revenue, and cash collections process at Lynx.

Working closely with key stakeholders, this position will also contribute to process improvements to enhance the operations of Lynx and its subsidiaries in both GovCon and commercial sectors. Additionally, responsibilities will include sales tax reporting, compliance reports, and supporting overall financial growth strategies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee timely invoicing and purchase order processing
  • Optimize order-to-cash processes
  • Standardize procedures and drive process improvements
  • Ensure revenue recognition compliance
  • Report internal revenue and invoicing metrics
  • Manage Accounts Receivable Process
  • Review customer contracts and purchase orders
  • Monitor backlog and support Professional Services team
  • File sales tax returns and ensure compliance
  • Collaborate with FP&A for revenue reporting
  • Assist in year-end audit processes
  • Conduct month-end reconciliations
  • Support Accounting Manager with various projects

Required Qualifications:
  • 3-7 years of accounting and billing experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Attention to detail and understanding of US GAAP and revenue recognition rules
  • Experience with high-growth environments and government contracting
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work remotely
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business applications like NetSuite
  • Background in software industry, professional services, or government subcontracts
