Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant to oversee all general ledger activities, including the preparation of financial statements, reconciliation schedules, and support for external audits. This role is crucial in ensuring that our financial and operational reports accurately reflect the company's status and provide reliable information for effective operations, alongside improvements to our ERP systems and new integrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Corporate Controller to manage month-end close processes, maintaining comprehensive documentation for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for various accounts, including inventory, prepaid assets, fixed assets, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Execute allocation entries for payroll, occupancy, and operational overhead costs.
  • Oversee bank and credit card reconciliations in partnership with the Accounts Payable Accountant.
  • Lead special projects such as external audits, project costing, and sales tax preparation.
  • Assist in financial statement analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable, Production, Operations, and Logistics to ensure accurate transaction recording and enforce internal controls.
  • Participate in the implementation of NetSuite, focusing on general ledger modules and recommending procedural enhancements to align with accounting standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is advantageous.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior accounting position, particularly in inventory and job costing.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with accounting software, preferably NetSuite.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP in a manufacturing context is essential.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Positive, service-oriented attitude and a team player mentality.
  • Able to analyze data, draw insights, interpret results, and provide actionable recommendations.
