Messner Reeves LLP, a national law firm, is currently in search of a skilled and experienced Payroll and Benefits Manager to become part of our team based in Denver.

The chosen individual for the role of Payroll and Benefits Manager will hold a key position in ensuring the precision and effectiveness of the payroll and benefits procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish, manage, and assess payroll systems to guarantee punctual and precise processing of payroll, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Maintain adherence to federal, state regulations, and evolving patterns across all states where employees are located.
  • Supervise end-to-end multi-state payroll for exempt and non-exempt team members.
  • Collaborate with the HR Department to formulate, execute, and uphold policies and protocols concerning payroll.
  • Ensure precise and timely execution of payroll modifications, such as new recruitments, terminations, and alterations in pay rates.
  • Conduct frequent audits to certify data accuracy and rectify any discrepancies.
  • Administer employee benefits schemes, encompassing health, dental, vision, life insurance, and other perks.
  • Work closely with the accounting department to balance payroll and benefits accounts efficiently.
  • Undertake any other necessary duties or functions vital for daily operations.

Qualification:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferably Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Display integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in all actions.
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, time management abilities, and meticulous attention to detail, along with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Proactive and self-reliant individual capable of taking the lead and showing initiative. Self-driven with outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Strong analytical prowess and adept problem-solving skills.
