SAIC is seeking a Control Engineer to support operations of a multifaceted organization at NSWC Crane that provides unique design solutions and technical excellence in the areas of Kinetic effects, Unmanned systems, and Rapid system integration.


JOB DESCRIPTION:


The incumbent will have the opportunity to collaborate with other professionals, to solve technical problems, and engineer sound solutions in a fast-paced / safety critical environment.

Will have the opportunity to serve in a capacity responsible for contributing to various projects, including all aspects of the product life cycle from concept to fielding.

All while having the opportunity to help build and maintain strategic relationships with customers and industry partners.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:


Personnel will utilize experience with robotics, automation, fieldbuses and industrial ethernet, human-machine interfaces (HMI), and safety controls to rapidly develop solutions.

Bringing critical knowledge and ability, ready to adapt and apply to remotely controlled or autonomous vehicles.


Tasking will include design, select components, develop, integrate, inform, and test control systems that support real-time, multi-axes changes on each developed system.

i.e., enable synchronized navigation among a group of vehicles, design of HMIs for minimal operator cognitive load, etc...

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
Bachelors degree and two (2) years experience; Masters degree and zero (0) years of experience.

Bachelor of Science in the areas of computer engineering or computer science is required for this position.

Ability to communicate technical information effectively to a variety of audiences in oral or written formats.

Significant and recent technical product development experience with a background in design and development of controls-based systems and HMIs. i.e., robotic, assembly automation, etc....

Knowledge and Ability in reading schematics of complex electronic assemblies.

Strong computer skills including Microsoft office (Outlook, Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Interim clearance with he ability to obtain a secret Clearance.

US Citizenship required

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Project management experience

Experience in rapidly developed and safety critical systems.

Unmanned systems experience

Design / Development of printed circuit boards and system schematics

Communications systems experience, i.e., radio (RF) and satellite links

Autonomous Systems experience in perception and path planning

Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

DoD engineering experience

SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
