Transport Support Worker

EMPOWER's Community Based Care program provides services to families aiming to support the safety, permanency, and well-being of children under the care of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).

As the Single Source Continuum Contractor (SSCC) in Metroplex East (formerly known as Region 3E), EMPOWER is committed to delivering a comprehensive range of services, including foster care, kinship care, case management, and reunification services, while actively involving the community to ensure positive outcomes for children.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required with a minimum of two years' experience in the child and family services field. Bachelor's degree is a plus.

In this role, as a Transport Support Worker, your main responsibilities will involve providing transportation for children and assisting staff in the Permanency Services Program.

You will contribute to the well-being of children in the Permanency Program by participating in staff meetings, coordinating with other agencies, supervising child transport, monitoring visitations, completing documentation, and providing family support and crisis intervention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and monitor visitations
  • Completing necessary documentation
  • Provide crisis intervention and problem-solving assistance
  • Support the reunification process
  • Ensure compliance with the case plan
  • Develop close working relationships with involved agencies
  • Offer assistance with basic services to meet developmental needs
  • Drive personal or agency vehicle for transportation
  • Prepare and maintain case files
  • Collaborate with public and private agencies
