One of our clients is seeking a long-term contract One on One Paraprofessiona to assist children with autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges.
- School hours
- Monday-Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm)
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
- Assist Teacher with the implementation of daily classroom routines.
- Maintain a safe and stimulating environment with consideration to positive child development.
- Provide students with goal-oriented support that fosters independence and the ability to display socially acceptable behaviors in the school environment.
- Provide support and assistance to teachers by helping students with challenges outlined in their IEP assessment: ages 3-21 years old.
- Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student.
- Work one on one with students to ensure a safe, nurturing, and academically stimulating environment.
- Write case notes indicating students' daily progress .
- Assist with the provision of age-appropriate supervision to students.
- Work with students who may be aggressive or disruptive in class.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalency.
- Ability to complete and pass clearances: FBI, Child Abuse (ACT 126), and Criminal.
- Must be able to produce current medical/health documents including: physical examination, Tuberculosis/TB Skin Test, CPR, and First Aid Level 2 certification.
- Experience working with children with behavioral challenges, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and/or autism
- A passion for serving special needs and developmentally challenged children; and a willingness to have patience with and understand their needs
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Establish a relationship with one of the nation's largest referral agencies for behavioral-health.
- Compensation processed weekly.
