Animal Medical Center of Austin is now hiring for a qualified and experienced veterinary technician to join our team

Animal Medical Center of Austin is a fun and energetic veterinary general practice clinic that is designed with pets and people in mind: warm, friendly, and highly positive. Our day is filled with routine appointments and procedures as well as urgent care and emergency cases, so we are searching for someone who is driven, shows initiative, and is looking for an opportunity to shine and grow within our practice

Here is What Your day May Consist of:
  • Intravenous catheter placement and venipuncture.
  • Administer drugs (IV, SQ, Oral).
  • Assists with radiographic procedures.
  • Perform diagnostic blood, urine, and fecal testing.
  • Provide care to hospitalized patients.
  • Manage invoicing of patients.
  • Client communication and education.
  • Admitting and discharging patients.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • At least one year of veterinary care experience.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Compassionate, driven, mature, and team oriented.
  • Needs minimal direction and has the ability to multi-task, as well as an above average understanding of efficiency and time management.
  • A self-starter mentality and takes initiative to complete tasks on their own.
  • Someone that is willing to grow and adapt through challenges and changes while maintaining a positive and optimistic attitude.
  • Ability to administer medications IV, IM, SQ, Oral, etc.
  • Maintain appropriate medical records for all hospitalized and critical patients
  • Willingness to jump in when needed and assist co-workers and veterinarian in any/all medical care - both appointments and procedures.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills towards clients, other staff members, DVM's and management.
