Team Overview

The Marketing Services team supports multiple business units at GAF and a number of affiliated businesses, supporting multiple brands and product categories through innovative marketing solutions including branding, marketing campaign development, and tactical execution.

Summary

The Graphic Designer works with Associate Creative Directors and other design professionals, copywriters, account managers, and production management to create and/or modify layouts for sell sheets, brochures, promotions, advertisements, and a wide range of other marketing materials. Using Creative Services tools and best practices — including brand and style guides, file management policies, quality control policies, project management tools, and so on — the Graphic Designer will execute projects from inception through final layout and preflight.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Create new and/or edit existing (as needed) marketing materials based on input from Product Managers, Writers, Proofreaders, and Design Team, and preflight those materials Collaborate with Associate Creative Directors, writers, and other design professionals on finding visual solutions to communication challenges Ensure timely and accurate execution of print and digital collateral Utilize appropriate brand guidelines (including typography, color, and other design elements) to ensure brand consistency and differentiation Create mock-ups for presentations and conceptual pitches

Bachelor's Degree 3+ years experience in a creative department or design firm preferred A strong sense of design, layout, and typography Facility with Adobe Creative Suite and Macintosh systems Working knowledge of print preflighting and production process Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent time management skills and attention to detail Demonstrated ability at creative problem solving
