Role Overview



Our Press Operators play a crucial role in crafting high-quality products for OMG by employing safe machine operation practices and efficient lean manufacturing techniques. This pivotal position involves setting up and operating stamping presses to manufacture parts as per specifications and Kanban card requirements. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Press Operator must exhibit teamwork and a commitment to delivering top-notch quality to our clientele.



Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize Safety as the Topmost Concern for all OMG team members.
  • Prepare presses, monitor operations, and inspect the final products to ensure compliance with machining specifications.
  • Review job orders for product details and specifications, including calibrations, dimensions, tolerances, and any special manufacturing instructions.
  • Adjust press controls and tooling according to the production run sheet, incorporating speeds and feed rates.
  • Carry out regular lubrication and preventive maintenance checks as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations.
  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on the machinery.
  • Assist other Stamping Operators in machine setup, as well as stacking, marking, packaging, and transporting finished workpieces.
  • Maintain a well-organized work area.
  • Follow additional instructions provided by the Shift Supervisor or Group Leader.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Prior experience in stamping press, turret, or punch press operations is a plus.
  • Proficient in using standard tools and measurement devices like scales and rulers.
  • Ability to interpret safety guidelines, job orders, quality specifications, and related documentation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong skills in mathematics and mechanical reasoning.
  • Capable of collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Physical capabilities including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, using hands, reaching, balancing, and lifting weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Good close vision and depth perception.
  • Display a positive attitude, sound judgment, and exemplary time management.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
