  • Collaborate with teachers, PLCs, and building administrators to support curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • Develop teacher expertise to implement a guaranteed, viable curriculum, conduct common assessments, and utilize student data to enhance teaching practices in 6-12 English language arts, journalism, and speech.
  • Lead 6-12 English language arts, journalism, and speech programs by modeling best practices, delivering professional development, and aligning curriculum with state standards and district expectations.
  • Stay updated on curriculum developments and effective instructional strategies.
  • Manage annual budgets for 6-12 English language arts, journalism, and speech.
  • Coordinate with other subject coordinators to align curriculum vertically and horizontally.
  • Regularly collaborate with Data and Assessment, Instructional Technology, and Professional Learning representatives to ensure a holistic learning process.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's degree required, specialist degree preferred in professional learning, district leadership, instruction, curriculum development, language arts, and speech.
  • Missouri Administrator Certificate preferred.
  • Missouri Teacher's Certificate in Language Arts grades 6-12.
  • Three to five years' experience in educational leadership, management, and long-range planning.
  • Proven teaching experience with expertise in instructional improvement and curriculum development, including long-range planning.
  • Familiarity with current educational trends and research to enhance student education.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing professional development programs.
  • Track record of fostering a positive, collaborative culture.
