JOB DESCRIPTION: Surgical Technologist Locum

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • - Responsible for providing technical skilled care to patients during operative procedures under the guidance of the Registered Nurse
    • - Prepares for surgical procedures, cleans and turns over instruments, equipment, and rooms for surgery
    • - Assists in evaluating patient care plans in the operating room environment
    • - Contributes to unit efficiency, safety, workflow, and utilization
    • - Performs other duties as assigned
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education: Graduation from an accredited school of Surgical Technology
    • Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years of Surgical Technologist experience
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must hold BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or Military Training Network
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Licensure/Certification/Registration: CST (Certified Surgical Technologist)
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • - Ability to collaborate effectively with professional and technical staff and Physicians

    • - Organizational skills to manage surgical procedures effectively
    • - Capability to operate technical equipment and work under pressure
    • - Proficient in maintaining accurate records and reports
    • - Ability to conduct orientation for new personnel and teach students
    • - Physical ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and communicate in English
    • - Willingness to be on call as needed
    • - Maintains confidentiality of information
