The Human Resources Coordinator serves as the point of contact between the university and its staff, faculty, and contractors, with regards to onboarding, insurance, benefits administration and general HR inquiries

Job Responsibilities:


Requests background checks for prospective new hiresRuns the onboarding process for contract workersPost job positions into Clear CompanySends onboarding paperwork for adjuncts, faculty, and staffRequests enterprise application access for new hires and employees, as well as employee terminationsAssists with benefits Enrollment for employeesAssists with answering, transferring and directing incoming calls professionally using a multi-line phone system to appropriate people and departmentsAssists in Greeting and directing visitors in a courteous mannerStays up to date on daily campus functions and their locations to provide callers with current campus activity informationPerform other duties as neededQualifications:Bachelors degree in HR field, otherwise relevant HR experience preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detailExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently on projects concurrently with strict deadlinesAbility to handle confidential data with a high level of professionalismBanner experience preferredProficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially ExcelFamiliarity with HCU preferredAdditional InformationHouston Christian University is an independent, private Christian liberal arts institution with a diverse student body.
