As a packaging supervisor, you will help set performance metrics, resolve problems, and troubleshoot issues as they arise with and without management direction.


Outline of position:


You will create, oversee, and monitor packaging tasks and the team's workflow, ensuring tablets, capsules, and powder blends are packed in accordance with cGMP regulations, in-house SOP instructions, sanitary FDA regulations, and the highest efficiency.

You will work closely with Marlyn's scheduling department, packaging leads, quality department, line mechanics, maintenance department, and management.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Observe highspeed packaging operations and inspect containers to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Train and support packaging team in setup and operation of equipment.
  • Analyze and determine all standards for packaging lines, ensure compliance to all planned schedules, and develop methods to ensure effective line speed.
  • Monitor and recommend improvements to process and develop, and maintain all packing orders effectively.
  • Assign duties to employees and oversee their progress.
  • Ensure that daily sales/production goals are met, including making sure equipment downtime can be avoided.
  • Train and integrate new workers.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to employees when needed.
  • Ensure cGMP and sanitation regulations are always followed.

Required skills and traits:

  • Previous consumer goods packaging supervision experience.
  • College degree or 5 + years of experience.
  • Must have previous line packaging experience (bottles, tubes, and flex film packaging).
  • Able to improve work efficiency to promote higher productivity levels.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write English.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Continual packing line improvement experience and skills.
- cGMP and SOP documentation and compliance experience.

  • FDA/Food Safety experience.
  • Technical & mechanical understanding (sensors, actuators, solenoid valves, encoders, inkjet printers, fillers, bottling equipment, labelers, cartoners, case packers, and palletizing cobots).
  • Line sanitation.
  • Troubleshooting high speed packaging and endof line equipment.
  • Have a strong work ethic, be reliable, honest, and possess integrity.
  • Friendly and team oriented (ability to work as part of a team and follow directions).
  • Multitasker, ability to help as an operator/packager.
  • Excellent organizational and math skills.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to sit, stand and bend frequently (up to 10 hours per day).
  • May have to assist on the line, repetition is required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds if needed.
  • Must be able to stand prolonged periods.
  • When needed, wear a respirator, and pass associated respirator tests and/or requirements, and be able to wear all required PPE, including safety glasses, ear plugs, and safety shoes.
