This role offers the chance to streamline processes, enhance employee experiences, and stay at the forefront of benefits regulations.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Administer all US and Canadian benefits and retirement plans, ensuring accurate data entry and vendor management.
  • Conduct in-person new hire onboarding related to HR and benefits.
  • Assist employees with benefits claims, enrollments, and plan changes.
  • Lead benefits enrollment processes, including communication and material preparation.
  • Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees.
  • Administer leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork.
  • Interpret FMLA and ADA implications for leave and disability.
  • Manage 401(k) inquiries, annual audits, and pension plans administration.
  • Reconcile benefits invoices and oversee payment processing.
  • Communicate and educate employees on benefits programs clearly and concisely.
  • Develop and implement employee wellness programs.
  • Maintain visibility and foster respectful, trusting relationships with employees.
  • Support the HR department with various tasks, including communications, database accuracy, and policy guidance.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in benefits and HR processes.
  • Incorporate diversity, inclusion, and belonging into the employee experience.
  • Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and minimize legal risks.
  • Update ADP and SharePoint, and manage change effectively.

**Qualifications:**

  • Bachelors degree in HR or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and workers compensation preferred.
  • Canadian benefits experience and self-insured experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • HR certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Union experience is helpful.
