Responsibilities of Operational Controller:

  • Manage Accounting team for the accuracy of the financial statements through the monthly close process and the timely reporting to HQ.
  • Ensure compliance with HQ reporting requirements and Accounting policies and responsible for the preparation and accuracy of US GAAP and IFRS financial statements.
  • Drive consistency throughout US and Canada operations.
  • Assess current accounting operations, drive process improvements, and develop metrics to monitor the effectiveness of process improvements.
  • Serve as key liaison for External Audit, ensuring absence of discrepancies and effective and efficient audit process.
  • Develop and document business process to strengthen internal controls
  • Assist VP, Accounting Director with various projects including adoptions of new accounting standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and train direct reports. Manage accounting operations (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Cash Management) and work to identify and report out on KPIs.
  • Cycle time in days to complete month-end close
  • Contribution - Value of benefits brough in with changes (process improvements)
  • Manage accounting operations (AR, AP, and Cash Management)

Responsibilities of Operational Controller:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of experience within an accounting role for commercial loans and leases.
  • CPA a plus.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Good understanding of the internal control process document and control points.
  • Process oriented, ability to understand how distinct operations work together.
